In South Nepal, our training programmes focus on two
kinds of population:
- local sessions for villagers
- centralised sessions for health workers in our Nepalese
partner’s office
These training programmes cover the following:
- Sanitation
- Basic hygiene
- Infant nutrition
- Primary health care
- Pre and post natal care
- Nutrition
- Brest feeding
- basic skills for health workers (midwifery, desease
containment)
In 2006, these training sessions were provided in 13
villages from July to October. Around 500 women were
trained, the sessions were conducted by a Nepalese nurse,
using UNICEF IEC materials.
